Giving a Chemo Buddy Club gift basket can be a wonderful, fulfilling group project
|
• Neighborhood groups
• Schools / colleges / universities
• Fraternal organizations
• Clubs / guilds
Starting a Chemo Buddy Club doesn’t necessarily mean you have to personally know a cancer or
chemo patient. Giving a CBC basket is a wonderful way to encourage someone - even someone
you don’t know.
Groups that could participate in giving a CBC basket as a group effort include:
• Families
• Churches
• Business employees / employers
• Community organizations
Both the children's basket and kids' clown baskets
make great group projects.
Those who could benefit by receiving a CBC basket include:
• Chemotherapy centers
• Cancer centers
• Hospitals
• Children’s hospitals
• Long term care centers
Like CBC says – everybody knows somebody…
Those who have given CBC baskets as group endeavors include:
• Soroptimist Club International of South Lake Tahoe, CA
• The Staff at Damonte Ranch High School, Reno NV
• South Lake Tahoe Breast Cancer Support Group, CA
• Rio Rico High School - Rio Rico, AZ
Testimonials
"Thank you so much for the wonderful basket. Wow! It is just beautiful. I opened gift #1 and
was so blessed. Tuesday I have my second treatment and can’t wait to open #2. You are so
precious to do that for me. Thank you!" (Texas)
"Jack received your present last Thursday…The box contained a huge basket with 6 individually
wrapped presents, each marked with a number from one to six. The note that was enclosed
explained that the correctly numbered gift is to be opened following the corresponding
chemotherapy treatment. Jack opened package number one as he experienced his first treatment on
April 23rd….He was so pleased and plans to open package number two following his next
treatment...Please know how appreciative we are that you care." (California)
... I opened gift number 3 on Friday. Thank you for the cup and socks! These people know their
stuff. The only thing I am drinking these days is water or hot tea. The Coumadin is making me cold
at night so the socks will be worn. A LOT! So now I have both head and feet covered... (Texas)
...I pray all is well with each of you!! ... Yesterday I had my 5th chemo treatment ... It's a small jar
that reads "Jar of Joy- 31 Days of Encouragement and Inspiration" which includes small pieces of
paper that you can open and read each day- very nice. Little nuggets for each day...
Thanks again guys!! (Texas)
